Beam, trading as Beam Up Ltd, builds AI tools for frontline workers in human services. Its Magic Notes product listens to a social worker's meeting, writes the case record and drafts the follow-up actions, removing the documentation load that consumes much of a caseworker's day; Talk handles voice intake and Interpret provides live translation. The company reports use across more than 350 frontline teams, over 80,000 workers and 150,000 meetings a week, and quotes £23 saved for every £1 spent. Beam started in 2017 as a crowdfunding platform that funded training and housing for homeless people and refugees, supporting over 7,000 people into work and homes, and wound that model down to concentrate on selling software to the councils and government bodies that do the same work at scale. Founded by Alex Stephany and Seb Barker and based in London.
