Aquaculture

Aquaculture is farming in water. Aquaculture includes the breeding, rearing and harvesting of fish, shellfish, algae and other organisms including aquatic plants in all types of water environments. Aquatic organisms are farmed for food, pharmaceuticals, food additives, jewelry (pearls), nutraceuticals and cosmetics.
