Busuu

Busuu is a language learning app offering courses in 14 languages with reading, writing, listening and speaking practice on desktop and mobile, and a community feature where learners correct each other. Founded in Madrid in 2008 and later headquartered in London, it reported more than 120 million registered learners across over 160 countries and above 500,000 paying subscribers at the time it was sold. Chegg agreed to buy it on 2 December 2021, valuing it at 385m euros or about $436m, and completed the all-cash acquisition on 13 January 2022 for approximately $417m.
