Covestro

Covestro is a German polymer materials group, spun out of Bayer in 2015 and headquartered in Leverkusen. It makes polyurethane raw materials, polycarbonates and coating, adhesive and speciality chemicals for the automotive, construction, furniture, electronics and healthcare industries, with around 17,500 employees across roughly 50 production sites. Listed on the Frankfurt exchange as 1COV and formerly a DAX constituent, it was taken over by XRG P.J.S.C., ADNOC's international investment company, in a deal that closed on 10 December 2025 and included a EUR 1.17 billion capital increase; a squeeze-out of remaining minority shareholders followed in 2026.
