Divergent

Divergent designs, prints and assembles complex metal structures on what it calls the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS), an end-to-end line that runs from AI-driven generative design through additive manufacture to autonomous robotic assembly. Its Monolith One printer works in aluminium, nickel, steel and titanium alloys, and proprietary joining lets it build structures up to nine metres long. The commercial claim rests on tooling: because the factory holds no fixed tooling, different parts can be produced on the same line on the same day, which suits low-volume aerospace and defence work that conventional stamping cannot price. Founded in 2014, it operates from Torrance and Long Beach, California, serving aerospace, defence, automotive and industrial customers.
