EdgeCortix designs AI inference silicon and the software to program it, from Japan. Its accelerator is the SAKURA-II, which the company says handles multi-billion parameter generative models at low power, built on a reconfigurable architecture it calls the Dynamic Neural Accelerator. Alongside the hardware it ships MERA, a compiler and framework for running inference across heterogeneous systems. The stated targets are embedded and industrial systems, robotics, smart city and smart home, and space, aerospace and defence, with the pitch being near cloud-level performance at the edge for far less energy.
