ElevenLabs builds AI speech systems — text-to-speech, voice cloning, dubbing and conversational voice agents — that produce audio with the intonation and pacing of a human reader rather than the flatness of older synthesis. Founded in 2022 by Piotr Dabkowski and Mati Staniszewski, who set out to fix the badly dubbed foreign films of their Polish childhood, it sells to publishers, game studios and developers, and pairs the technology with voice-consent and detection tooling because cloning is the obvious abuse vector.
