Montamo

Montamo is a German heat-pump installation business that carries out the planning, installation and commissioning of domestic heat pumps itself rather than reselling the hardware. It works with all the major German manufacturers and sells through three channels: directly to households, as an installation partner to manufacturers and energy vendors, and through a franchise network of trades businesses operating under its standards. The company's argument is that the bottleneck in German heat-pump adoption is installation capacity and quality rather than sales, and it positions itself as a modern Handwerksbetrieb built around that constraint. Founded in 2023 and based in Berlin, Montamo has raised $8.9 million across two rounds, most recently a $6.6 million seed in March 2025 from investors including Project A Ventures, Firstminute Capital and Alter Equity3P.
