Neara
Neara is a Sydney-based software company that builds physics-accurate digital twins of electricity networks. Utilities upload LiDAR and asset data and Neara reconstructs the network — every pole, conductor, span and clearance — as a model they can simulate against, testing how the grid behaves under wildfire, flood, storm and load-growth scenarios before committing capital. It sells into resiliency and reliability planning, wildfire mitigation, severe-weather response, asset management and design and construction. Founded in 2016 by Daniel Danilatos, it works with close to 90% of Australia's network utilities and with Southern California Edison, CenterPoint Energy, ESB Networks, Scottish Power and HEDNO abroad. Its A$90m Series D in February 2026, led by TCV, valued it at A$1.1 billion.
