Control Engineer for Actuators and Sensors (all genders)
As a Reaction Wheel Control Engineer, you will develop the control algorithms and embedded control software for our in-house reaction wheels. You will work closely with systems, mechanical, electronics, AOCS, and Flight Software engineers to translate product-level performance targets into robust control solutions for operation in space. Your Mission: Take part in the system design by working closely with the other reaction wheel team members. Compare, select, and implement control strategies and a state machine for reaction wheels on component level. Create a plant model for simulation and use it to tune the parameters to meet the control performance targets. Software development / implementation either by autocode generation or embedded C programming. Own the entire FDIR process and control software testing and evaluate the control robustness. Develop algorithms for other components such as star trackers or magnetorquers. Collaborate closely with AOCS and Flight Software team. Your Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of control systems, mechanical dynamics, and field oriented control. Hands-on experience with reaction wheels, electric motors, or similar actuators. Proven expertise in AOCS development. Experience with simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink. Experience with Code generation in Matlab or embedded C.
