Mechanical Technician
About the role Join Strohm as Our Next Mechanical Technician! Do you enjoy practical mechanical work, solving technical problems and helping to keep production running safely and reliably? We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team. In this role you will perform first-line mechanical maintenance on production equipment. Your work includes inspections, fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance in accordance with approved procedures and work orders. You will independently resolve mechanical faults within your level of competence and support Engineering and other technical specialists during more complex breakdowns and repairs. You will coordinate your activities with Production to minimise disruption and ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and accurately documented. In this role, you will: Perform first-line mechanical maintenance and repairs on production equipment; Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to restore safe and reliable operation; Carry out preventive maintenance in accordance with approved work orders and schedules; Support Engineering and technical specialists during complex breakdowns and major repairs; Coordinate activities with Production and accurately document completed maintenance work. Note The candidate must be currently residing in the Netherlands and hold a valid work and residence permit allowing them to work in the Netherlands. We do not provide visa sponsorship or support with obtaining a work permit for this position. The team You will be part of the Maintenance team within the Operations department. This team consists of a Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Planner, Mechanical Technicians and Electrical Technicians What you bring: An educational background in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline; At least 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a production environment; Good Dutch and English communication skills or willing to learn Dutch; Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills; A mechanically minded approach and a genuine interest in hands-on technical work, such as working on cars or other mechanical projects; The ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions; A proactive and safety-focused approach, with the ability to work independently.
