Our flagship Antino Gold Project in Suriname hosts a series of gold deposits within a highly prolific and underexplored district scale land package. At Founders, we combine technical excellence with a bold, entrepreneurial spirit. Our team is driven by curiosity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to discovering and developing world-class gold assets that create long-term value for our shareholders, local communities, and partners. We are a fast-growing, performance-focused company that values integrity, accountability, and innovation in everything we do. As we expand our operations and accelerate discovery, Founders Metals offers a dynamic environment where talented individuals can make a meaningful impact, grow their careers, and help shape the next chapter of a modern Canadian gold company. Role Overview The Project Geologist plays a key role in advancing exploration at the Antino Gold Project, a district-scale orogenic gold system in the Guiana Shield of Suriname. Reporting to the Exploration Manager at Antino, the Project Geologist supports field execution of an active, multi-rig diamond drill program in a deposit style defined by structurally controlled, shear-hosted gold mineralization within greenstone-belt lithologies. This is a site-based, rotational position. The successful candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented geologist who thrives in a remote tropical field environment, works effectively alongside drill contractors and Surinamese field crews, and upholds Founders’ commitment to excellence, integrity, and safety. Position Responsibilities Support day-to-day execution of the drill program in the field, working closely with the Exploration Manager on logistics and the coordination of drill contractors and field crews. Monitor and manage all geochemical QA/QC with strict adherence to company SOP. Ensure umpire program, check assay requirements and general lab quality for all material sent for analysis. Liaison directly with lab for all analysis related subject matter, and ensure data is correctly uploaded to database. Directly responsible for production, QA/QC and training of all daily coreshack operations, including the management of geologists, geo-technicians, core cutters and support staff. Ensure coreshack workflows are optimized for efficiency and quality. Oversee and review all QA/QC of drill surveys, deviations and general data input. Ensure quality of collar and survey information of all drilling related operations. Assist with drillhole design and pre-field modelling input for structurally controlled orogenic gold targets, and monitor drill progress daily using tools including live 3D modelling. On a daily and dynamic basis, monitor resource classification drilling and ensure targets are being met. Complete detailed diamond drill core logging (lithology, structure, alteration, and mineralization) to a standard suitable for wide host of different gold mineralization styles. Enforce company SOP for all logging procedures and ensure daily implementation. Ensure integrity of chain of custody across all sample types and adherence to company SOP’s with all responsible contractors and third-party service providers. Execute field exploration sampling in line with Best Management Practices and NI 43-101 requirements and support exploration data management and QA/QC. Provide field supervision and direction to geological technicians and field crews on mapping, geochemical, and geophysical survey work. This includes auger sampling (shallow and deep auger) geological mapping, rock sampling, surface geophysics and general prospecting functions. Apply and help maintain field best-practice technical exploration systems and protocols, including sampling protocols suited to orogenic gold systems. Contribute geological interpretation and analysis to support the development of target- and deposit-scale geological models (lithology, structure, alteration, and mineralization) across the Antino land package. Assist with map production and support geological and resource modelling as required. Assist with mineral tenure record-keeping and assessment/expenditure reporting inputs. Ensure field data is captured, verified, and documented to a standard that is defensible for public disclosure and reviewable by the Qualified Person under NI 43-101. Work in accordance with Founders’ health, safety, environment, and community standards, including camp, vehicle, aviation, and jungle-travel protocols. Maintain thorough rotation handover notes so that programs continue seamlessly between rotations. Support the training, mentoring, and development of Surinamese geological staff and field technicians, contributing to local capacity building. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering, minimum. 7–10 years’ field exploration experience, including diamond drill core logging, geological mapping, and sampling programs; experience supporting active multi-rig drill programs is an asset. Exposure to orogenic gold deposit types (shear-hosted, structurally controlled systems) preferred; Guiana Shield, West Africa, or other greenstone-belt experience an asset. Prior field-based role with some supervisory or crew-direction experience considered an asset. Working knowledge of NI 43-101 standards and exploration QA/QC protocols. Proficiency with industry-standard geological software, such as core logging databases, 3D modelling packages, and GIS platforms. Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Dutch, Sranan Tongo, Portuguese, or Spanish is an asset in Suriname’s multilingual work environment. An equivalent combination of work experience and education will be considered. Core Competencies Strategic thinking and problem solving. Strong attention to detail and organizational ability. Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication. Initiative, accountability, and results-driven mindset. Commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship. Sound geological judgment and technical rigor under field conditions. Cross-cultural collaboration and clear communication within a multilingual, multinational team. Self-sufficiency and resilience in a remote, camp-based rotational environment. Location and working conditions The position is based at the Antino Camp, a fly-in / fly-out exploration camp in the Sipaliwini District of eastern Suriname, FIFO from point of hire. The role involves extended periods at site under tropical conditions, with travel into the bush on ATVs, boats, and helicopters. Camp accommodation, meals, transportation, and standard rotation benefits are provided. Founders Metals is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds. Compensation A competitive compensation package will be offered, commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience, expertise, and anticipated contribution to the organization.
