R&D Analytical Chemistry Technician

Dioxycle · Paris

About Dioxycle Dioxycle is developing next-generation electrified chemical manufacturing technologies that produce cheaper, cleaner and sovereign critical chemicals, key to mining, energy infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and consumer goods. Our technology uses electricity and widely available feedstocks (CO, CO2 emissions, salt streams) rather than fossil fuels, de-linking the production of critical chemicals from fossil-linked supply chains exposed to chokepoints, export bans, and price volatility.   We focus on chemicals where our direct electrified pathway simplifies complex multi-step fossil-fuel-based processes into fewer simpler steps; delivering a process that is both cleaner and cheaper. Having validated the superiority of our technology at our industrial module scale, we are now preparing for commercial deployment.   We are supported by world-class funders including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Gigascale Capital and have raised $40M to date. We operate from two centers in Paris and California (so whether you are passionate about outdoors or good food/art scenes, we have a location for you to join!)   Your Mission Dioxycle is seeking a highly motivated R&D Analytical Chemistry Technician to scale our lab operations and capabilities as we develop our novel catalysis technology. We are seeking a positive, hard-working and meticulous individual who is excited about using their energy to make our analysis pipeline runs smoothly and timely so that the Dioxycle team can drive further innovation in electrolysis and have a tangible impact on global emissions.    Key Responsibilities: - Prepare samples for characterization on a daily basis - Perform routine chemical and physical characterization, such as NMR, titration, DLS, compression tests, on a daily basis - Prepare pilot-scale chemical feedstocks - Carry out certain electrochemical characterization and contribute to development of new methods - Take care of waste and gas management - Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of our work spaces and help with daily cleaning - Ensure sufficient consumable and lab supplies at all times - Ensure safety rules are followed and assist in writing new rules, standard operating procedures and risk assessments - Manage all collaborations with external laboratories for characterization techniques and write reports to share with the team - Production of electrodes & carry out general lab operations (e.g. inventories, maintenance, quality control and testing) and automate tasks wherever possible - Actively foster a culture of safety in the lab Working conditions: The expected habitual working times for this role are 10am-6pm Monday to Thursday; 10am-5pm on Friday Location: Onsite in Saint-Ouen, France   Qualifications: To be fully comfortable with the job, you have at least 2+ years working experience in an industrial or research chemistry laboratory, and you may also have a Bachelor's or Master's in chemistry, material sciences (or related field).   Below are the skills we believe will enable you to be successful in this role.
