For more information, visit https://www.m-files.com/ We’re looking for a Principal, Engineering Operations to join our team and help shape and scale our engineering organisation. We enable our teams to affect change with speed, ease and confidence. You will need excellent project management skills, great communication skills, to enjoy working in a constantly evolving scale up and be able to influence the strategic direction of key initiatives. You will work closely with the Engineering Leadership team and across all product delivery teams to improve alignment, speed, and operational consistency. This is a hands-on role — you will drive AI transformation implementation in practice, not just framework definition, owning the change end-to-end: upskilling engineers, optimising costs, and embedding new ways of working across the organisation. Day-to-day, you will support and coach engineers and directors in execution, accelerate governance across Engineering, and actively unblock ongoing transformation efforts. Key Responsibilities Drive change within Product & Engineering as part of our continuous improvement of our processes, practices and culture Be part of a team that drives common approaches that make it simpler for the teams and leaders allowing them to focus on the big picture problems Ensure quality assurance and seamless launches that set industry standards Advocate for best practices in tools and instrumentation, eg. addressing data integrity issues Offer insights for decision making around the flow of work through the product organisation and where the bottlenecks are Provide insights to the business by helping out teams to track metrics that align to business outcomes Building and maintaining cool dashboards in JIRA, Confluence, Compass that show us where we are at and if we are going to make our marks Have the organisation build the muscle to self-organise around the set of defined, measurable outcomes you have landed and helped communicate. Ad hoc projects which require managing / leading / driving in various part of the business - these will grow in complexity over time Inbed and hand off change to product management, engineering and operations owners Requirements Skills & Experience Experience and openness towards using AI to improve your own day to day work as well as the rest of the Engineering organisation Business acumen, including financial literacy, business models, planning, change and project management skills, goal setting and organisation design Exposure to product strategy, product management, and/or program marketing in SaaS company Expertise in Agile and scrum development practices Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, MixPanel, SalesForce, PowerBI and other tools Exceptional PowerPoint and Excel skills — you can turn complex data into beautiful, crisp presentations Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
